While avoidance and de-escalation come first, officers still need the confidence to protect themselves and others if a situation turns physical. This module covers basic unarmed self-defence and safe restraint technique.
Beyond the certificate, this module gives every officer a real, practical edge on site — the kind that clients notice and rely on.
Under instructor supervision, recruits practise basic defensive holds and safe restraint techniques in controlled pairs, with an emphasis on control and safety over aggression. Practical sessions like these are conducted by Provost Tiger Force trainers, so every officer leaves this module having actually done the task, not just read about it.
Self-Defence Techniques is one of many modules that make up the complete Provost Tiger Force training program.
